For those considering a move to Prince Rupert for work opportunities, the North American relocation guides at Moving Waldo, described as Moving concierge, have some good news.

If you're looking to buy a home, Prince Rupert is considered among the top five of the ten most affordable communities in Canada.

The city finding itself place at Fifth Overall with an average House Sale price of $485,000. Putting the North Coast in the company of Prince George, Willians Lake, Castlgegar and Cranbrook when it comes to home ownership affordability and their view of best quality of life.

When it comest to the Moving Waldo survey, we make for the only entry in the Northwest and just one of Two communities featured in Northern BC along with Prince George.

The researchers at Moving Waldo however, may want to do a bit more research into the career opportunities available for those who relocate to Prince Rupert.

The  current overview features a note on the jobs available in the fishery industry, which would seem at least a decade or more out of relevance, while there is no mention of the expansive footprint of the Port related industry in the region.

They also may want to dig a bit more into the city's rental situation which they describe as affordable.

Which as we've noted for a few years now is a totally different challenge when it comes to affordability, for those looking to rent a home in a town with few rental options.

  1. $985,000? The article says average of $485,000.

Also, that photo choice is hilarious.

  2. You are correct, we shifted a few spots on the keyboard and increased the average price, something we have since corrected to more properly reflect the house as noted as $485,000, thanks for drawing it to our attention.

And as you, we are puzzled at their choice for photos, it would appear that they were smitten by Smithers and decided that would have to do ...
