The hectic work of the last few months has provided a Big City look to the auto dealer's redone digs, featuring a new indoor showroom to showcase some of the new arrivals, as well as an expanded parts and service department to serve the loyal GM customers of the North Coast.
MacCarthy GM has a number of special activities planned for their Grand Opening, the centre piece of the events a BBQ tomorrow from 2 to 7 in support of the Prince Rupert SPCA.
As well, they are hosting the Buick Drive for Your Students program during the Grand Opening celebrations, with Buick donating 2 dollars for every valid test drive taken, with the proceeds to be distributed to the Grad Class of 2016.

The investment and expansion of the local dealership highlights the confidence that the parent company in Terrace would seem to have in the North Coast.
The commitment to Prince Rupert and area keeps GM competitive with the other major auto retailer in the region Chrysler, which completed its own major renovation not too long ago.
For the moment, those two major national brands hold the market for the most part when it comes to the auto sales sector on the North Coast.
Port City Ford, the satellite Ford dealership of Totem Ford in Terrace announced earlier this summer that the projected price of required renovations to its Prince Rupert location was a guiding factor in its decision to close their operations on the North coast.
