Hope Air updates the tally from the Pond/Miller ride to Prince George

One week following the end of the marathon biking adventure from Nurses Mikaela Pond and Jennifer Miller, Hope Air the organization that the two were biking to raise awareness of, has updated the tally of fundraising.

As we outlined on the blog earlier this week, when we last left the total's board on Monday, the journey of the two nurses from Prince Rupert to Prince George had raised some 5,000 dollars, bringing them to 84 percent of their goal for the trip.

Since then, Hope Air notes that the money has continued to roll in, with the latest amount coming in at over 6,500 dollars, surpassing the original goal of the two nurses.

That is an amount that will provide for 27 additional flights with the air service for families in northern BC.

As well as the financial boost in the last five days, some of the Northwest's commercial and industrial groups stepped in to lend a hand among those noted by Hope Air for going above and beyond were:

Pacific NorthWest LNG; Northern Savings Credit Union; Summit Reforestation; McElhanney Consulting Services; the Bulkley Valley Motel; Par 3 Sports-In-Motion; and the Riverhouse Restaurant.

During the course of their journey along Highway 16, the two riders received much in the way of assistance from both residents and business operators in communities along the way.
