As anyone will tell you, Prince Rupert is a hotbed for basketball fans and players and many of those that have gone on to play the game at the Rainmaker level or beyond, have had their start on a Saturday morning at the Russell Gamble Gym at the Civic Centre.
With Labour Day bringing the summer near its end, it's time to start thinking about a little B Ball and for Prince Rupert youth that means the PRMBA.
One of the North Coast's most popular sports leagues, the Prince Rupert Minor Basketball Association is making its final plans for the 2015 season, marking two nights on the calendar for registration this week.
The program which is available for boys and girls in Grades 3 to 10, will be holding registration on Tuesday evening, September 8th from 6 to 8 PM in the Raven Room of the Civic Centre.
A second registration night comes up on Thursday, September 10th from 6 to 8 PM at the same location.
The PRMBA is one of the best deals in sports when it comes to family finances, with registration for the 2015 season set at just 60 dollars.
Once they have the numbers in for players for all levels, league organizers will make the call to parents to let them know which team their child will be playing for, with a hopeful tip off date for the fall season to be September 15th.
As with any amateur sport, volunteers are always needed and appreciated, you can find out more about this years plans for the season and offer up your time by contacting Gerard at 250-627-4280.
