More media changes for the North Coast as the Northern View bids adieu to editor Shannon Lough

There will be a changing of the editorial guard at the city's weekly newspaper, with Editor Shannon Lough announcing her departure from the Fraser Street publication, composing an editorial page farewell that was published in this week's Northern View.

The editor who quickly rose through the ranks at the weekly paper since her arrival from Ottawa three and half years ago, reviews some of the highlights of her time on the news beat of the community, making note of the shift towards a more multi media approach that he paper took on during her time.

While she may be leaving behind the days of deadlines and breaking news, she's not leaving town and she isn't moving all that far from her current office to her new job opportunity with ecotrust Canada which is located just a few blocks away in the Capital mall building.

Ms. Lough's last day with the paper is today as she prepares to take up duties shortly as the communications and fundraising manager with community action organization.

Her departure marks a complete changeover of staff  for the paper over the course of the last few months, there is no indication yet from Black Press as to who will be taking on the editorial duties and so far the position has not been listed as part of the Black Press careers pages.

The publisher probably prefers that you review the print copy of the paper delivered to your home to read her farewell on page A6, but if you prefer to access your information on line, the farewell to the Northern View can be explored here.
