Prince Rupert Library celebrates National Indigenous History Month with a varied reading list

The Prince Rupert Library has been celebrating the days leading up to Friday's National Indigenous Day with their own presentation of Indigenous history, literature and culture.

The display at the Wap Liitsx offers a glimpse at the wide range of material that the library has on hand for those looking to dig a little deeper into the variety of titles that are on the shelves inside the  reading rooms at Sixth Avenue West and McBride.

As part of the month long program, the library is hosting a contest with the prize that of  Tanya Talaga's All Our Relations: Finding the path forward.

To place an entry in the draw, all you have to do is Read an Indigenous book from the display, ask for an entry form at the front desk and then write the title/author of the book you have read on the back of the entry form.

The draw takes place on June 28th, so you still have lots of time to get in a number of entries, depending on your pace of reading of course.

For more notes on library events see their Facebook page here.

As we outlined yesterday, National Indigenous Day takes place this Friday at Prince Rupert's Rotary Waterfront Park.
