The McKay Street Dog park is a NO ROAM ZONE today and for the foreseeable future, after a motor vehicle incident resulted in a break in the fencing that surrounds the park. |
A motor vehicle incident at the McKay Street Dog park has taken the free range away from the city's canines and their companions for an undetermined amount of time, something that will mean leash time for Fido until repairs can take place.
A very short advisory from the city's Communication's office posted this afternoon to the city's Facebook page makes for the only official notification of the situation; to this point advisories to the public have not been provided through the City website, or the City's mobile app feature.
Something which may leave those Dog owners not inclined to follow along on the social media feed to discover on their own the currently closed state of the park.
Photos posted to social media indicate that the damage to the park involves a break in the fencing along the McKay Street side of the park, leaving a hole large enough for some of the dogs that enjoy the wide open spaces to possibly make a break for it.
The city has offered no timeline on its Facebook page towards when repairs may be completed in order to allow the park to reopen once again.
The Dog park opened to the public in October of 2018.
