Northern Health updates listings of communities where COVID Vaccine has been delivered

Northern Health has created a home page on their website to provide the latest information on how their COVID-19 vaccination plan is rolling out, with an up to date list of the communities where they have provided for vaccination shots so far.

So far according to those listings,  the Northern Health plan has been focused on Prince George, Terrace, Burns Lake and communities in Northeast British Columbia.

The update comes with a note as to how the vaccination plan is subject to change, depending on the arrival of vaccines.

The listings as of January 14th can be reviewed below:

The page which you can access here, also has links to a number or resources related to vaccine information from the BC Government and the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control

It's part of their large collection of information related to COVID-19 which is available here.

In addition to the Northern Health Vaccination program, a number of area Indigenous communities have also seen vaccine supplies arrive, that program handled through the Federal government.

You can review those listings here.

As we noted earlier this week, the topic of when the Prince Rupert area may see the first of the COVID-19 vaccines made for a question from Councillor Gurvinder Randhawa at Monday's City Council session, with the Council member relaying a number of comments and questions that he has received from members of the community.

In particular, Councillor Randhawa expressed his concern that local seniors and health care workers have yet to be offered an opportunity for vaccination.

At the Monday meeting, Mayor Lee Brain observed that he had spoken with Northern Health officials and they have indicated to him that they plan an update for the region at some point over the course of the next two weeks.
