While St. Patrick's Day faces some COVID challenges today, celebrations still be there to take part in

Across Prince Rupert, like all Canadian cities and towns, people are wearing their green, adopting some absolutely horrendous accents and speaking fondly of a beer today that they perhaps only have once a year.

Yes it's St. Patrick's Day and for the second year in a row, we're making the best of COVID times to take part in the annual March traditions.

While the chance for a little Craic, is limited this year, with last call at local pubs and bars set for 8PM tonight

There are still ways to share the spirit of the day with the vast Diaspora of Irish Canadians, who share tales of the homeland, even if few have actually been there.

With a nod to the large exodus of the Irish that have made Canada home, the Irish Government is bringing the annual show to you this year.

That as they offer a virtual St. Patrick's Day Virtual Receptionalong with a tour of the lands that have sent many to our shores.

So pick up your Guiness, your Kilkenny, or your Jameson's or perhaps just a cuppa tay and settle in for the party.

Work on the brogue though, it takes a wee bit of time you know.

For the really dedicated, the salutation of the day is: Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit!

Admittedly somewhat harder we suspect as the day moves forward.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
