The Northern Sea Wolf will be in refit until mid May, with BC Ferries arranging for alternative transportation until then |
Travel along the Central Coast will be a bit different starting Friday, that as the Northern Sea Wolf which serves a circuit between the Central Coast and Port Hardy heads off for a six week refit period.
As it it does, BC Ferries will introduce a twin feature service, which features a barge for vehicles and a passenger water taxi, the latter for vehicle and foot passengers, as the barge does not allow for passengers.
In a Service Notice issued over the weekend, BC Ferries outlined how the service will work through until the Middle part of May.
As the water taxi travels faster than the barge, vehicles will generally depart via the barge before the passengers and arrive after them. Customers should review the different sailing times and plan to be separated from their vehicles prior to departure and after arrival.
BC Ferries will be offering a complimentary shuttle service in Bella Coola for vehicle passengers needing to drop off or retrieve their vehicles.
Repairs to the Northern Adventure are complete and the vessel departs Prince Rupert later this afternoon |
