This Kitsumkalum Fire Truck has been
reported stolen from the Community
Update: The truck was recovered by a volunteer search team on the West Kalum Forest Road on August 11.

----------------------------------------

The long weekend just passed seemingly provided an opportunity for those will ill will, to leave the community of Kitsumkalum without the services of their Fire truck.

The Terrace RCMP is currently working on an open file regarding the theft of the truck, which was last seen in the community in the early morning hours of August 2nd.

RCMP investigators have determined that sometime just before 3 AM  the thieves approached the fire truck, travelling in a pick up truck to where the vehicle had been stationed. Minutes later, the stolen truck is seen heading north on the West Kalum Forest Service Road.

It obviously won't be hard to spot should it make its way out of the forested areas of the Northwest, the truck is a red 1986 GMC Pumper truck, with expired BC Licence plate of 316MF, as well the words Kitsumkalum Vol Fire Department are painted on the doors.

Should anyone have information related to the incident, they are asked to contact the RCMP at 250-638-7400 or on line through the Crimestoppers phone line at 1-800-222.TIPS or the TerraceCrimestoppers website.
