For Rupertites looking to get away or those looking to travel to the community, Air Canada has delivered some additional welcome news to the Prince Rupert Airport Authority, moving up the return to service by a few days.
Airport Manager Rick Leach shared the good news for travellers today, advising that you can now book your flights in and out of the city with a return to service date of June 19th.
That adds three days to the schedule for Air Canada, which outlined its plans for a return on Tuesday.
The updated flight plan comes in the same week that the Prince Rupert Airport received some positive news from the provincial government.
As we noted yesterday, the BC Government has earmarked 16.5 million for regional airports towards supporting operations from April 1 2021, to March 31, 2022, providing for a year of secure funding to help the local airport authorities try to regain their footing from the challenges of the Pandemic
