There's an increase in activity on the CN Rail yard near Rotary Waterfront Park, with a new structure going up on CN Land where the old Roundhouse used to be |
There's some fast paced construction taking place on the Prince Rupert Waterfront with CN Rail currently putting up a structure on the location of the old Roundhouse on the CN Rail yard.
The former structure was consumed by one of the city's more spectacular fires in recent years; the CN incident one of arson that took place in March of 2020.
As for the new construction, now taking place three years following the fire, Edmonton based Synergy Projects Limited is conducting the work at a location noted as 800 Bill Murray Drive.
Synergy Projects has some extensive experience in both industrial and residential housing work which seems to be a good fit for the work underway.
The footprint for the structure goes along much of the immediate area under development which is located directly below the Highliner Inn, between the rail yard and the cliffs below the Highliner.
The visual profile for the work so far seems to be limited in height, which would seem to fit that of a bunk house or accommodation for CN Workers, which is the current Prince Rumour entry in motion related to the work underway.
CN has not released any official statement towards the work underway or a timeline as to when it will be finished and ready for occupancy.

It's not called the Highlander inn.
