375 youth take to the pitch for 2023 PRYSA season

The 2023 soccer season has launched in Prince Rupert/Port Edward and the registration drive of the winter and spring has sent 375 youth players to the pitch, an indication that the sport is building back from the COVID interruption of a few years ago.

The enrolment for 2023 marks a ten percent increase for the Association from the numbers prior to the 2021 season shutdown.

The Charles Hays Secondary School Field on Prince Rupert Boulevard has been the host venue for events through the start up period for the league, with play taking place in Seven Divisions, a thumbnail guide to the field times for each was released earlier this month.

The PRYSA delivered a State of the Game letter for the start of the season to the region's soccer families this week, providing a snapshot of the season ahead.

You can follow the notes from the PRYSA from their social media feed here, as well as the Association website here

The PRYSA is also posting scheduling information to an app program called the Sports Engine, learn more about it here.
