Easter Weekend brings number of Government office and service sector closures

The Easter weekend is but a few hours away and for many employees of Federal, Provincial, Regional or Municipal government and other services in the community that means some additional days off of work.

All Federal and Provincial employees will be off both Friday and Monday and on the North Coast the Municipal scene will be somewhat similar.

The City of Prince Rupert has relayed their Hours for the weekend ahead with City Hall and services closed from Friday to Monday.

The City of Prince Rupert Recreation Complex also has Friday and Monday off;  however will have regular hours on Saturday and Sunday.

The District of Port Edward has advised its residents of their Holiday plans, with the District Office closed through the four day weekend ahead.

North Coast Regional District offices are closed over the four days, however Recycling Centre hours  for Saturday will be the same as they are most weeks, with the schedule for both the Mainland and Haida Gwaii outlined below:

Financial Institutions in the city have posted their Easter plans to their locations, with Northern Savings Credit Union making use of their Social Media feed to also relay their update.

And Prince Rupert and Port Edward Transit have also outlined their service plans for the weekend, with Saturday the only day for transit and HandyDART service over the four day weekend.

As for community events, beyond the traditional religious services that are the focus for Easter, the Prince Rupert Rotary Club is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.

We outlined some of the activities ahead with this item from last week.

More community themes can be reviewed here.
