The quest to build back some of the staffing of Family physicians has started to pay some dividends for Northern Health, with the Health Authority sharing word of the arrival of Doctor Maissa Elamin to the community.
Originally from Sudan, her path to Prince Rupert included stops in Qatar, Winnipeg and most recently in Quesnel to complete her field assessment.
Her practice will be located as part of the Harbour clinic as well as through Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.
The note from Northern Health has already generated a volume of welcomes for the new doctor. The vast majority of them sharing their thanks that the Doctor had chosen Prince Rupert to continue her medical journey in.
The update on the addition to the local roster was relayed through the Prince Rupert specific Social Media page hosted by Northern Health.
