The city's marine transportation link between the Downtown core and the Digby Island Airport is up for a refit, with City Council likely set to announce tonight of its approval of the contract for the work ahead to Point Hope Maritime of Victoria.
The call for proposals was posted to the provincial BC Bid site in July, tonight Council will review a report from Paul Venditelli, the City's Director of Economic Development and Technology,
The report will provide background towards the bid process and note that the city received only one compliant bid for the work, that from Point Hope Maritime, with the proposed work to come at a cost of $311,812,00 plus GST.
Refits for the city's Digby Island Ferry is required every four to five years as part of Transport Canada requirements.
