A field of rock debris near Shames Mountain on Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert is making for delays and reported road closures at the moment for travellers on this Thanksgiving Monday.
Update: Drive BC has confirmed the road closure, next update to come at 4:30 PM
Drive BC provided for the first cautionary note a few hours ago on their social media stream towards the incident.
An image and commentary posted to the Social Media site Highway 16 road conditions suggests that the road has since been closed until an assessment takes place, that same information is being shared on Terrace area social media streams.
Though there is no official note to towards that relayed by Drive BC just yet.
Update 2: As of 4:30 PM Road has been reopened to single land, alternating traffic with controllers
