The City's fire fighters did not have to take on any structure fires for the month of Sempteber, that is one item of note from the month report for City Council to be delivered tonight at their first council session for October.
The report part of the Agenda for tonights session from Fire Chief Jeff Becwith notes of 60 emergency incidents that brought a response in the month, those included two motor vehicle incidents and five nuisance like fires.
September was also a month heavy with Fire Service Inspections, training for fire crews and maintenance for equipment.
Tonights report for Council also serves as a reminder that this is Fire Prevention Week in British Columbia, with the City of Prince Rupert using its social media stream to signal the start of the week of education on areas of note on Fire Prevention.
