Prince Rupert misses out on BC gas price drop heading into Thanksgiving weekend

The price of gas in the lower mainland has seen a significant correction in the last week, with Vancouver area motorists now finding that their fill ups are costing up to 20 cents less than a week ago and with the promise of a few more cents to come off in the days ahead.

Gas prices plummet ahead of long weekend in BC

Barring any late Friday change to the pricing structure for Prince Rupert, the drop in the price of a litre of gas is not something likely to be be heard as part of any Thanksgiving dinner conversations to be found for the North Coast.

That with the price point this morning across Prince Rupert mostly marked by gas for $1.82 a litre

One exception to the Prince Rupert price at the pump is found out in the Industrial Park, where Grassy Bay Petro-Can has a current price of $1.79 per litre this Friday morning.

If your Thanksgiving involves some highway travel this weekend, you can check ahead for the best values along the Highway 16 corridor through the GasBuddy website, which has the price at the pump for most communities that you may be passing through.

Though so far there's little relief for motorists wth most communities along the Highway 16 corridor at the same price point, or in some instances even higher than Prince Rupert at the moment.

The price does drop by Burns Lake and the further east you travel until you reach Prince George. That market which has a very competitive retail scene has a wide fluctuation for prices from $1.61 to $1.69 per litre.
