City Council Preview, Tuesday, September 1, 2015

Prince Rupert City Council returns to the Council chamber this evening, with the first regular session for September as Council returns to the more familiar schedule with the summer season now behind us.

A fairly light agenda for the most part greets the Council members to ease them into their fall routines, with a number of Variation Permits, Bylaw requests and Reports to address through the evening.

The prospect for lengthy conversation however does exist, as Council will once again wade into the issue of Housing Committee matters, a topic which has delivered some spirited debate of late.

The full review of the evening ahead can be found from the Regular Council Agenda for September 1, 2015

Prior to the Regular Council session, Council members will conduct a Closed Session at 5 PM, where they will hold discussions related to: negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.

Below we'll highlight the different elements of this evenings work from the Regular session Agenda, for further background on each item, the page number from the Agenda is listed in red.
