Mayor's Caucus wraps up three days of municipal discussions

Mayor Lee Brain was in Prince George
this week for the BC Mayor's Caucus
Three days of exchanging ideas on municipal policy have come to an end in Prince George, as that city's mayor Lyn Hall made his farewells to the thirty mayors in attendance at the BC Mayors Caucus.

The discussions which wrapped up Tuesday covered a range of topics, with three major items of note appearing to make for much of the focus for the delegates, which included Mayor Lee Brain from Prince Rupert.

While the Mayor hasn't provided for any updates on his travels since his greetings from Prince George message of Sunday, accounts from the gathering indicate that Economic and Social Development issues, initiatives coming out of the province's CleanBC program and planning for emergency management provided for some extensive discussion for delegates.

The participants in the gathering also had opportunity to tour a number of Prince George initiatives, included on the list were stops at the following:

City of Prince George District Energy System
Wood Innovation and Design Centre
Wood Innovation and Research Lab
Prince George Food composting Program

The delegates will bring their list of issues to the province as part of the next UBCM meetings set to take place this fall.

Prince Rupert's travelling Mayor will have an opportunity to update residents on his journey to Prince George at the upcoming April 8th City Council Session.
