Prince Rupert RCMP on scene for seven hour incident Monday on city's east side


Residents looking to transit between the east side of the city and downtown were looking for alternate routes on Monday evening with access to Sixth Avenue East restricted by the Prince Rupert RCMP who responded to an incident in the area shortly after 6PM.

Upon arrival at the scene of the call for assistance, members of the Prince Rupert Detachment closed a section of Sixth Avenue East from Hays Cove Circle to Hays Cove Avenue, with the area in between remaining closed until the early morning hours of Tuesday.

Travel was restricted along a stretch of Sixth Avenue East on
Monday evening as the RCMP attended to an incident in  between
Hays Cove Circle and Hays Cove Avenue


The BC Ambulance Service was  also on the scene to assist as the Mounties attended to the still undisclosed nature of the incident which lasted for close to seven hour and was successfully resolved by 1:30 AM.

No further details have been released to the local RCMP website regarding the events of Monday.
