Skeena-Bulkley Valley NDP candidates head for Prince Rupert

Cowpuccino's  a home away from home
for politicians
With the race to gain the NDP nomination in Skeena-Bulkley Valley now underway, the two candidates that are officially in the running to have the opportunity to contest the fall federal election will be coming to Prince Rupert for some Meet and Greets in the city.

Greg Brown who recently filed his candidacy papers with the federal party will be at Cowpuccino's on Wednesday evening, hosting his Prince Rupert Meet Up from 7 to 8:30 PM.

The details for the event can be be found here.

You can learn a bit more about Mr. Brown from his Facebook page for the campaign.

The Wheelhouse Brewing Co
is also a favourite destination
for those seeking votes
On Saturday, Taylor Bachrach, will make the trek to the North Coast, with the Smithers Mayor who announced his candidacy over the past weekend, set for a pair of get togethers in Prince Rupert.

The first is a Saturday afternoon event at Cowpuccions from 3 to 5, followed by an evening get together at the Wheelhouse Brewing Company from 7 to 9PM

Some background on the twin events can be found here.

You can review Mr. Bachrach's campaign launch and other notes of his quest for the nomination from his Facebook page.

The race to the nomination opened up last month when long serving incumbent Nathan Cullen announced his plans to step aside from the federal political scene.

It's expected that more potential candidates will test the water for the nomination, but they have a short period of time to make a decision and make an impression on NDP members, NDP officials have indicated that the candidate selection meeting will take place in Terrace on May 25th.
