City seeks your opinion on the downtown core

The City of Prince Rupert wants to hear your opinion
when it comes to the state of the city's downtown core

Prince Rupert residents can weigh in with their thoughts on the downtown core area, with a survey currently underway by the City of Prince Rupert to determine how we use the downtown area and what changes we might wish to see to the commercial sector.

The public engagement initiative is part of the Rupert Talks program, with the Downtown Core survey covering a number of topics and taking participants roughly 10 minutes tops to complete, depending on how wordy you wish to be.

The survey starts up with some generic questions about which stores or services you make use of in

the downtown area and asks you to rank them in order of the most frequent use.

Questions related to the things you like the most about the core also make up one of the questions, including what elements, buildings or businesses that should be preserved, should revitalization plans move forward.

Participants are also asked to name three shops, services or activities that they would like to see in place in the downtown area to increase their visits to the area.

On the other side of that question, you can also outline the three reasons that you don't shop, dine or seek out entertainment in the core on a regular basis.

It's expected that the survey will come to an end by mid month, with the results to be posted to the City's information portal.
