For North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice much of her time was allocated time for a number of statements on the work of emergency service personnel, all part of the focus on Tsunami Preparation week.
Ms. Rice also had a lengthy presentation on Thursday related to the recently announced amendments to the Coastal Ferries Act.
Skeena's Ellis Ross also had some time in the Legislature spotlight with his primary focus on the week that of energy development and shipment in the Northwest and the province.
In the week ahead, Ms. Rice and Environment and Climate Change Minister George Heyman will join a list of other witnesses, set to appear at the Senate of Canada's hearings on the proposed Oil Tanker moratorium, they will appear on Tuesday as part of the Prince Rupert session, while a second day of hearings will follow in Terrace on Wednesday.

For the week just passed, North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice had a fairly busy agenda for commentary in the Chamber.

On the week, Ms Rice was listed five times on the accounts of the sessions of the Legislature from April 8 to 11
Ms. Rice began the week with a salute to the Ground Search and Rescue Units in the province, with a bit of focus on the Prince Rupert group making for some of her presentation.

Monday afternoon found the MLA making introductions in the Chamber for visiting officials from a range of health and emergency services ( see Legislature minutes at 13:42 mark)
The praise for emergency services continued with comments during the Monday afternoon session related to call takers and dispatchers in the province.

On Wednesday Ms. Rice had a few comments in Statements about the work of public safety lifeline volunteers in BC (see Legislature minutes at 1405 mark)
Thursday brought the MLA into the Chamber for an extensive afternoon contribution to the discussion on the introduction of amendments to the Coastal Ferries Act

The North Coast MLA is also a permanent member of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, serving as the convener of that forum.

For our readers from the Terrace-Kitimat region, Skeena MLA Ellis Ross had three mentions in the Legislative listings as part of this weeks session .
The Skeena MLA began the week with some extensive comments related to how the province needs to improve on its efforts towards energy exports out of BC

He also called attention to the pending departure of And Calitz the Chairman of LNG Canada, providing a statement that advised the Legislature of the change for the Kitimat project (see the Legislature minutes for Monday afternoon at the very opening of the session)
Mr. Ross is also a permanent member of the Standing Committee on Legislative Initiatives.
