The Silver Seas vessel Silver Muse has berthed at the Northland Terminal it's first of two ships to arrive today and tomorrow |
It will be a little busier around the city over the next few days, as the Northland Cruise Terminal welcomes two vessels this week bringing close to 1,000 visitors to the North Coast for today and tomorrow.
Shortly before 7:30 the Silverseas luxury cruise vessel Silver Muse arrived at the terminal, lines firmly affixed on the dock by 8 AM, just as the members from Canada Border Services took up their posts in the Terminal to prepare to process the visitors for the day long excursions or walking tours ahead.
As passengers watched from their cabin's above, vessel's crew were making their final adjustments to lines and preparing to open the doors to those wishing to go ashore.
In the staging area on shore, members of Prince Rupert's Cruise Ambassadors were making ready at their posts as well, ready to welcome the day's visitors to the community.
Close to 600 passengers aboard were set to explore the city shortly after, part of a ten hour stopover in Prince Rupert that will see the ship depart at 6PM.
The Cruise ambassadors and tour operators will be back at it again first thing in the morning tomorrow, as the Seabourn Sojourn arrives at Northland a port call that again begins at 8AM, it too has a ten hour port call on the schedule with the first of its 450 passengers set to come ashore at 8AM.
The busy cruise week will come to an end on Seafest Sunday, when the largest of the weeks vessels, the Oceania Regatta and her 684 guests arrive at the Northland Terminal, the Regatta which will tie up along the dock at 8AM will have a nine hour stay for its first of three port calls for this year.
Their first visit of the year offering the passengers a chance to take in all of the Waterfront events just to the west of the Cruise Ship dock as Prince Rupert puts the wrap on the 2019 edition of Seafest.
