Blog Watching: Week ending July 5. 2020

The return of air travel to the North Coast makes for our most read item of the five for this week, with a look at how the Prince Rupert Airport's social distancing measures will work as  Air Canada to increases the volume for potential passengers to the region.

Also capturing some attention this week, another re-opening for a Prince Rupert business, as well as our look at the plans for a mammography clinic at the Civic Centre  for the next ten days ahead

News from the provincial government that some additional money is on the way served to capture the attention of readers, as did our look at a Request for Proposals from the City of Prince Rupert towards their next phase of removal of the WW2 fuel tanks at Moresby Park.

However, when it came to the most read item of the last week, aviation and the return of air service to Prince Rupert held the largest audience of the week.

YPR prepared for potential increase of travellers and any impact on social distancing -- With Air Canada, joining West Jet in increasing the volume of passengers on flights this week, we explored what impact if any that may have on the social distance measures in place t YPR, the Airport Ferry, buses and Shuttle location in downtown Prince Rupert.   (posted  June 30, 2020)

BC Cancer Mammography Road Tour plans Prince Rupert stop next week -- A temporary solution for those requiring mammographies is in place for the next week or so, with the arrival of the BC Cancer Screening van.  That while residents of the North Coast await further news from Northern Health about the return of a full time mammography technician for Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.  (posted July 3, 2020)

BC residents set to receive Climate Action Tax Credit in next few days  -- A bit of extra cash is on the way for British Columbians as the province continues to roll out additional funds towards the COVID response.     (posted July 2 , 2020)

City of Prince Rupert's Moresby Fuel Tank Removal Program heads for Phase 2 -- The City of Prince Rupert is taking bids towards the next phase of the plans to remove the WW2 era fuel tanks and piping system that is located in the west side's Moresby Park.   (posted June 29 , 2020 )
