Road Washout near Telegraph Creek stops road travel in and out of community
See update at bottom of page
A washout on Highway 51 has put a pause on road access to the community of Telegraph Creek, with the incident taking place between Glenora Road and the Talhtan River Bridge on Thursday.
An update to the Telegraph Creek Rec Centre Facebook page notes that a potential one lane road may be a possibility at the 9 mile location, though a decision on that option won't be known until sometime later today.
A photo submission to that page from Sheila Quash also provides a glimpse at the extent of some of the damage to the road.
For the moment, the community can only be accessed by air, for updates on the status of the Road follow the Drive BC website or twitter feed.
Update: An update shortly after 8PM has advised that the road is now open to Single lane alternating traffic, consult Drive BC for further updates.
