It seems that reading the details of the roll out for COVID-19 vaccinations wasn't of particular interest for hundreds of thousands British Columbians.
That as Ministry of Health call takers report being swamped in the first three hours of the first day to book appointments, a day for the most part reserved for Seniors over 90 and Indigenous residents over 65 years old.
By ten AM, the volume of calls attempting to book an appointment was over 1.4 million, something which the BC Government noted on social media was somewhat higher than the target group for the day.
The British Columbia government estimates that the there are only 82,000 people eligible for the opportunity to book an appointment in this round of the vaccination program.
The volume of calls made this morning suggesting that a large number of us aren't very good at math and/or reading dates.
Health Minister Adrian Dix has called for patience from the rest of us, to allow for the booking of appointments from those that have been identified at this time.
Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen weighed in on the topic this morning, reminding British Columbians of the protocol in place at this time.

Yesterday, we outlined the plan for vaccination clinics in Prince Rupert, with the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre to be the location for the vaccination shots at the end of this month for those booking appointments this week.
