City makes note of changing seasons and plans for winter snow removal ahead for Prince Rupert

With some cooler temperatures and snow line that is creeping
down on area mountains, the City of Prince Rupert
has offered up some snow removal plan guidance for residents

The recent drop in temperatures for the Prince Rupert area, which while providing for some spectacular winter like backdrops ... is also serving as a reminder that winter is on the way and that means snow removal plans are being finalized by the City of Prince Rupert.

The City used its Social Media page on Tuesday to remind residents of the need to remove any obstructions that they may have on city streets near their homes, as well as the responsibilities for home owners, business and industry towards helping along with the snow removal program.

A reminder which is making for some conversation among the city's social media followers.

The City had an early start towards some of their winter Operations plan on Tuesday and again Today as the cold temperatures made for some slick roads around the community.

Snow removal made for a few topics of discussion for Prince Rupert City Council last winter, particularly following a significant accumulation in January of this year.

  1. If the city is serious, it is time some of the derelict junk parked in the same spot for months on end is moved. They might want to also take a shot at travel trailers and boats that homestead on our streets and have them moved also.

These notices are treated as false alerts. No enforcement no compliance. This makes for ineffective snow removal.
