The shift in weather and winds of the north bringing in November with a change from recent days and the high level of rain.
The overnight freeze up made for the first burst of road salt work for the City's operations department which was out early tending to the hill areas, the School District as well making sure that their parking areas were addressed before the start of the days classes.

For those travelling along Highway 16 this morning, there were two advisories of note for the start of the day.
With slippery sections noted from the BC Ferry Terminal and points east.
Further east towards the Terrace area and beyond there were reports os slush conditions on the highway.
The shift in temperature will hold for the next two days before rain returns through the weekend, keep the window scraper handy however, the Cold returns by Sunday with a chance of flurries Overnight Saturday then giving way to clear skies and cold temperatures with a Sunday nigh low to reach -9
