Someone to watch over Watson...

Considering that things are moving at a glacial pace when it comes to the Watson Island file, it's of interest to make note of a new Help Wanted Advertisement from the City of Prince Rupert.

On Wednesday, the City posted a notice to their website, advising that they are now seeking a Site Manger for the Watson Island Industrial lands.

A position that no doubt will provide a challenge for any interested applicant, especially considering the myriad of concerns that City Council has observed recently, regarding the state of the industrial site.

The successful applicant will be required to bring a number of skill sets to the position, among the highlights of the Job Opportunity, the ability to Manage and train Gatehouse staff, identify and provide solutions to mechanical issues, as well as to oversee the contracted repairs of electrical and plumbing systems.

In addition to those duties, the Site Manager will also provide liaison with the Leaseholder and ensure as to WCB compliance on the site.

Full details on the Watson Island position can be found at the City's website
