BC Ferry traffic westbound most likely felt an uptick over the last week or so, as the annual Haida Gwaii festival known as the Edge of the World Music Festival prepared for its Friday kick off.
The three day music festival is a popular event on the Northwest calendar of events, attracting large crowds to Haida Gwaii, this year with over 40 musical acts lined up to entertain the audience.
Events got underway at 3 PM on Friday, the festive wraps up on Sunday evening with a closing ceremony at 5:30.
The rush for the ferries we imagine to follow Monday morning.
This years festival is dedicated to Elizabeth Inkster, one of a group of of residents who brought the festival to Tlell in 1999.
Ms. Inkster passed away on Christmas Day of last year, you can learn more about her impact on the festival here.
