Original story of February 12

The city's fibre link with the outside world is still running a little slow, but in their latest update on the situation, CityWest officials have indicated that they have hopes of a full restoration by February 13th.

The update, posted to the CityWest Facebook page shortly after 2PM notes that technicians in place near North Bend BC are working towards final repairs, with the potential for full restoration even possible as soon as later this evening.

The work on the fibre break has been a challenging task for those working on the repairs, owing to the isolated location where the issues took place.

The city's bandwidth has been reduced since a major storm in the south caused significant damage to the infrastructure earlier this month.

You can find updates on the status of the service from the CityWest Facebook page.
