Fifty the count for confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Acropolis Manor

Northern Health has updated some notes from Prince Rupert's long term care facility Acropolis Manor, with a Friday afternoon advisory that has increased the number of positive cases of COVID at the facility to fifty, with 30 residents and 20 staff members now listed as part of the outbreak which began in mid January.

Thankfully, there have been no more deaths reported from Acropolis since the last update,  that of midweek which called attention to the tenth passing at the facility during the current situation.

The update from today would seem to put the number of positive cases at long term care facility to over 50 percent.  As we noted on Wednesday, Acropolis Manor is home to 56 beds and five short stay or palliative beds.

Northern Health has plans for their next update on the ongoing outbreak at Acropolis to be delivered on Monday.
