The District of Port Edward has had some success in raising a pair of issues with the Provincial Government, with two Ministers from the BC NDP government provided written responses to recent correspondences from the District.
The replies more general in nature than specific to the issues, but at least note that the District's concerns have been heard and notice given to the concerns.
One if the issues that the District outlined put some focus on the concerns that they have had when it comes to recent road conditions between the coast and Terrace, a topic that they raised with the Minister of Transportation back in November following highway closures related to rock falls at that time.
Minster Rob Fleming responded to their letter, with one of his own in Mid December, Mr. Fleming noting of the province's focus to ensure that Highway 16 will receive the highest level of maintenance service to keep the route safe and in oo condition for travellers.
