Drive BC is alerting motorists to a vehicle incident 31 kilometres west of Terrace that has resulted in the closure of the highway, with no time of reopening available as of yet.
Accounts of the situation from the Social Media forum Highway 16 Road Conditions indicate the closure is related to a vehicle and train incident at the level crossing.
Members from the Terrace RCMP detachment were dispatched to the scene prior to the noon hour, the most recent reports advise that no injuries were reported, though no other details related to the incident have been released.
