East Side Slope slide remediation work moving quickly

Work continues this week along 11th Avenue east
at the site of slope slide and sidewalk failure at Conrad

City of Prince Rupert Work crews have made quick work of an infrastructure failure from last week, with crews having shored up and replaced much of the collapsed sidewalk located on 11th Avenue East and Conrad.

As we noted last week, the slope had slid down the embankment to land on properties adjoining the 11th Avenue side of the area with the sidewalk failure part of the overall collapse of that area of civic infrastructure.

Work crews were on the job by late last week and from a quick look over the weekend things appear to be a much improved state of affairs from just a few days ago.

A week of work brings a new look to the area of a slope slide on 11th Avenue

How the same area looked last week following the failure

While the work continues, road access is limited and last week was being addressed by flag personnel, so motorists along the 11th Avenue East corridor should note of their work and pay heed to their directions.
