Road and Home play on the schedule for Prince Rupert Rampage this weekend

If all goes well, it could be a four point weekend for the Prince Rupert Rampage, with the CIHL team on the road tonight, for a game in Hazelton with the Wolverines, followed by a matchup with the Kitimat Ice Demons Saturday night at the Jim.

Tonight's game in Hazelton will see the 8-2 Rampage looking to build on their lead atop the CIHL standings, facing off against the 5-5-1 Wolverines at 8 PM at the Hazelton Arena.

The Rampage are no doubt aware of the need to keep three key Wolverines off the scoresheet to come back down the Skeena Highway with two points.

Tanner Wort, Sean Maktaak and Scott Docherty make up the potent Hazelton attack with 72 points among the three on the roster far and away beyond anyone else on the team.

The Rampage while featuring a lower scoring distribution among the players so far, have found their success on the year by way of a strong team performance through their first ten games.

With dedication to both offensive and defensive play having  delivered the dividends to date.

Saturday night, a hungry Kitimat team makes the trip down the Highway, yet to win a game on the year, an Ice Demon cornered could be a dangerous thing for the Rampage who may come out of their Hazelton encounter a bit beaten up by what could a physical Friday night.

It has been a rough slog for the Ice Demons, with only one player, Tayden Folwer McNab in double digits on the scoring sheets, still taking on a top team always puts an extra jump into the skates and knocking off the CIHL leaders could be sone strong motivation for the visiting Kitimat squad.

As they do prior to every home game, the Rampage have made the call to the PRMHA, calling up another rising talent for some help in the pregame part of the night, this weekend announcing the addition of Axel Pottle to the roster.

Saturday night at the Jim will also mark the continued observance of the Fight Against Cancer by the Rampage, a theme for the month which we made note of earlier this week.

Since our notes of Wednesday, the Rampage have updated the success of their campaign with some supportive local businesses and industries signing on for the month to lend a hand.

Puck drop with the Ice Demons at the Jim on Saturday is 7PM.
