An opportunity to learn more about a career as a 9-1-1 Police Dispatcher is coming up at the end of January as the North District RCMP look to fill positions at their Central dispatch centre in Prince George.

Towards finding some new recruits for the challenging but rewarding positions, North District RCMP is hosting a virtual career presentation on January 31st at 6PM

Participation will be by Zoom but registration is required for those with an interest in the potential career option.

The Prince George Centre handles the police emergency calls for the northern region of the province.

Those calls, like the requests for ambulance service, are routed to it from Prince Rupert through the Prince Rupert Fire Hall which hosts its own dispatch centre for Fire related calls for service in this community.

Success in the application process would require a move to Prince George to take on the duties following training.

The Northern career opportunity was relayed through the Prince Rupert RCMP Social Media page, they also include this link towards more background information on the Dispatch career.

To register for the Zoom presentation email your name, address and email address to E_911Recruiting_ND@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
