The City of Prince Rupert is looking to hear from the community on how the Parks and Outdoor Recreation Plan will move forward, known as Rupert Plays, city staff have just completed a Draft Report which will be delivered at tonight's City Council Session.

As part of the roll out of the planning for recreation over the next ten years, the city is hosting a two pronged surgery process, with survey's for Youth and Community Members now open for contribution.

The Youth Survey is available here and consists of just 11 questions, participation is for those in Grade 12 down to Grade 7 or younger an there is 100 dollar VISA Gift Car up for one person with the draw to come following the survey period.

The Community Survey is available here and consists of 15 questions

Both of the surveys are part of the Rupert Plays initiative on the City's Rupert Talks Engagement program.

The Draft Report tonight for Council was developed by Planning Manager Myfannwy Pope, builds on the work of the planning department and the city's consultants on the planning Urban Systems.

The process of development of the plan began in June of 2022.

The timeline towards a final should see the wrap up come by this summer

There will be a Virtual Open House towards the Draft Plan scheduled to take place on May 17th at 7PM to outline the scope of the plan to this point.
