The latest themes on Education for the community of Lax Kw'alaams made for a portion of the recent update for residents, with Leona Wells providing the presentation by the Band Council.
Among some of the areas explored was the transition from an Independent School to that of a Band School, with the process of that changeover and the governance measures that are now in place as part of the change.
Some background towards how the Education Department operates also was of some focus as well as the changes to policy when it comes to Post Secondary Education.
Other areas on education that were explored included partnerships with Contract North, and employment engagement opportunities with Lax Kw'alaams Business Development.
Towards the future Ms. Wells took community members through the Next Steps for the Education portfolio.
