Today is the day for students at the Prince Rupert campus of Coast Mountain College, Convocation 2023 with colleges officials, educators and staff all bidding farewell to those who have completed their programs and now move on to their next journey.
We previewed the celebration for Coast Mountain College last week, with college officials and local dignitaries to assemble at the Lester Centre of the Arts for today's ceremony.
The Students to arrive at 11:30 for their gowns and photos, the actual Convocation to take place at 1PM.
Today's event marks the start of a string of similar farewells that is ahead for students in the city.
Starting with the Graduating Class of 2023 for Charles Hays Secondary School, they take over the Lester Centre this week for two days of rehearsals prior to the Friday evening event.
The CHSS Commencement takes place at the Lester Centre at 7PM Friday night.
Next week, it's the turn for Pacific Coast School to salute their students as they move forward from their studies, with SD52 noting that the PCS Commencement is set for June 16.
Later this month both Prince Rupert Middle School and Annunciation School will bid farewell to their Grade Eight students as they prepare to make their next step into Secondary School
And at the Elementary schools across the city, the students heading off to Middle School in September will also mark the transition of their travels forward to a new adventure in the fall.
