Seafest Salute to Seniors kicks off the three day festival in Prince Rupert

The Highliner Plaza Hotel on
First Avenue West is the host
venue for today's Seafest icebreaker
Seafest 2023 is but a few hours away for the community, with the first of a weekend of events set for Ballroom of the Highliner Plaza Hotel this afternoon and the Seniors' Tea.

A two hour celebration of our seniors and elders.

The two hour  event starts at 1:30 PM and features refreshments, sandwiches and deserts, as well as entertainment and prizes.

Co-hosted by Prince Rupert Special Events, the City of Prince Rupert and the District of Port Edward the day is one to acknowledge those in the community that have made their mark in building the community.

Today also brings the awarding of membership in the 75/50 club for 2023.

The City of Prince Rupert sponsored recognition event that hails those in the community who are at least 75 years of age and have lived in Prince Rupert for 50 years or more.

The City issued its call for new members in early May, with those fitting the qualifications to be feted as part of today's event.

Admission to the Tea is 5.00 dollars, while members of the 75/50 club get in for free!

You can find updates on all of this weekend's Seafest events from the Prince Rupert Special Events Society social media stream.
