Over the course of this final year of their high school studies, the Grade 12 students at Charles Hays Secondary have been attentive to their Commencement Checklist.
A to do list of volunteering for community events, selling chocolates for fundraising, submitting their grad write up and for some; applying for Scholarships and Bursaries, for their post secondary ambitions.
That of course on top of their diligent attention to their studies and their involvement in a busy student life at the Prince Rupert Boulevard school over the last four years.
And tonight over the course of three hours at the Lester Centre of the Arts, the Class of 2023 will mark one early milestone of their lives, while charting the course for their next adventures, whether in the world of work or further studies.
110 Charles Hays students are on the list to make the walk from the back of the Lester Centre theatre to the stage to mark the moment of transition from their secondary school years to what comes next.
The night one of speeches, ceremony and celebration. The weekend for many, one marked by family reunions as friends and family members from afar come to town to share in the moment of celebration with the Grads of 2023.
Grads arrive at the Lester Centre at 5PM, the guests for the night in the audience at 6:30, the Commencement Ceremony starts at 7PM.
To the Class of 2023, Congratulations on your success of the last four years, and your moment tonight, along with Best Wishes on wherever your travels take you next.
