It's become one of the hot sports of late from the racquet family, with Pickleball gaining devotees at a rapid pace of late as they take to the sport
Pickleball Canada the National Organization for the sport noted last month that they had reached a count of 60,000 members, with the number making for an increase of 20,000 registrations in just a year.
The growth for the sport on the North Coast came from a push by Ian Cullen in 2020. He was somewhat of a pioneer for the sport in the region, the first to make for plans for an organized approach for Pickleball in the community.
A chance to learn more about the sport is coming up later this month when the Recreation Department hosts a Pickleball Coaching Clinic, a project that should help to grow the sport in the months ahead across the region.
Set for Saturday, November 25th the clinic will be hosted by Callum Catto.
Sessions are available for both beginner players wanting to learn the basics of the game, as well as intermediate players who are looking to refine their skills on the court.
