MLA's week, April 28-May 1, 2014

A snapshot of some of the talking points from North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice, during this week's proceedings of the Legislature.

The final week of April, (the first sessions after a two week easter break), found the North Coast MLA making two contributions to the work of the House or Committee rooms in Victoria.

Through the thirteen sessions of the Legislature in House or Committee work listed for the week of April 28-May1, MLA Rice appears in the index for the Legislature week session twice.

Her First appearance on the week was during the Tuesday morning Question Period, where she again raised issues related to the need for a shuttle bus between communities of Highway 16.

Ms. Rice also appeared at a Legislature Committee Session on Education, outlining the concerns of residents and School officials on Haida Gwaii.

As for committee work, MLA Rice is a member of the Standing Committee on Children and Youth, that Committee however did not meet during the past week.

Other issues of interest to the North Coast were reviewed in Victoria last week, with Robin Austin, the MLA for Skeena outlining concerns on LNG development and Aquaculture.
