Blog Watching: Week ending October 28, 2018

Last Saturday night was election night across British Columbia and in Prince Rupert that 29 per cent of the eligible voting pool that took to Civic Centre to cast their the ballots helped to shape the make up of our City, District  and School Council memberships for the next four years.

Our election evening updates proved to be quite popular as the evening moved into Sunday morning, with four of the seven stories we cobbled together during the weekend finding a particularly strong audience.

The four that resonated the most included our look at the final results for the City Council race, Port Edward vote and that of the Prince Rupert School District, our notes on the arrival of an all male contingent in Prince Rupert for the years ahead also attracted a large audience.

The only item to break through the political overview on the week, our account of twin drug busts coordinated between the Prince Rupert and Terrace detachments of the RCMP, with arrests made in both communities.

This week however, it was the municipal political scene on the front burner, with our look at the results of the 2018 Municipal voted attracting the largest audience of the week.
