He's wearing new threads these days in the colours of the Prince Rupert Rampage, but this past weekend Judd Repole was at centre ice of the Osoyoos arena as the Coyotes of the Kootenay International league officially retired his sweater from his junior days in the Southern Interior part of the province.

The popular play maker with Coyotes played five years in the Kootenay Junior league, becoming one of the team ambassadors in the community and putting up some impressive stats, particularly in his final two years of his junior career.

Friday night, the Coyotes brought Repole back to the southern Okanagan and paid tribute to the leadership of their former captain, with a first period ceremony to salute his time with the team and to retire his number 18.

The 2016-17 season saw the Prince Rupert play maker land in the top ten overall scorers with a number eight placement at seasons end, his stats for that benchmark year with 16 goals and 49 assists for 60 points in the scoring race that season.

When he wrapped up his career last season with the Coyotes, he was with credited 267 games in an Osoyoos uniform in both regular and playoff games, scoring 64 goals and 145 assists  for a team record 209 points.

The Osoyoos media hailed his return for the ceremony as part of their coverage of the Coyotes from Friday night.

The Prince Rupert Rampage also shared in the celebration, providing their own tribute to Repole through the team's Facebook page, a post that also includes the sweater retirement ceremony from Osoyoos.

This weekend Repole will  be back in Prince Rupert Rampage uniform as the Rhino's take on the Quesnel Kangaroos at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

He'll be looking to add to the scoring totals that currently have him in 2nd place in overall scoring in the CIHL, just one point behind fellow Rampage Jared Meers, with the Prince Rupert captain leading the league with 3 goals and 4 assists after three games in the season.

The Rampage currently sit in first place in the CIHL with wins in their first three games of the season, Saturday night they look to keep the winning streak alive with puck drop set for 7PM.
